Lacrosseblog NCAA competition comes to an end…
Posted by lacrosseblog under NCAA, UncategorizedLeave a Comment
We watched the final with some 15 people in a sports café in the center of Amsterdam. There was some tension because 4 guys attending were still in the competition and it was all about the total goals of the game who would win it…
Patrick was crying for a low goal game and the others just hoped their score 20, 21 or 23 made it.
Final score desided that there was still no winner Jarred and Jonathan both guessed 21 and were the closest. A simple coin toss should deside the winner of the first lacrosseblog competition. Both guys have crappy gloves so they both really wanted the grand prize sponsored by www.prolaxshop.com
Finally the winner is………………………
Jarred the lazy player from Amsterdam Lacrosse and the best baseball player of Greece (but Tim would be that if he was Greek…).
A nice evening of Lacrosse in Amsterdam and showing that the lax community is growing in our small country.

Three seasons ago, Virginia won the Division I lacrosse title with many of this year’s seniors watching from the sidelines as freshmen. But in 2004, the program hit a low point, finishing at just 5-8 and out of the playoffs. Undaunted, the team entered the next season ready to make a championship run. It would take a freak storm and a last-second goal by eventual champion Johns Hopkins to end the Cavaliers’ title bid.
Now, the Virginia seniors — players like Matt Ward, Matt Poskay, and Kyle Dixon – have come full circle, winning the Men’s Division I National Championship with a convincing 15-7 victory over surprise finalist UMass in front of a record 47,062 fans at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

Le Moyne caps undefeated season with NCAA D2 championship win over Dowling

When Dan Sheehan provided the in-depth scouting report for his defensemen to prepare for Le Moyne's Division II championship matchup with Dowling, it came with a message.
Along with the usual analysis on the Golden Lions' offensive tendencies, the Dolphin head coach told his defense, "Don't worry about our offense. We'll bail you guys out a little bit."

Cortland takes NCAA D3 title, snaps Salisbury win streak in OT thriller

In a sea of yellow-clad Salisbury fans at Sunday’s DIII Men’s Lacrosse Finals, a sign read: “Complete the Fairytale – Slay the Dragon.”
Unfortunately for the three-time defending national champions, they ran into a Cortland team that was looking to complete a fairytale ending of its own. Guided by first-year interim head coach Rich Barnes, the Red Dragons pushed the game into overtime on an improbable Ryan Simensky goal, then won it on an unassisted effort from junior Mike Felice with just two seconds left in the extra period to give Cortland its first-ever Division III lacrosse title.
